World Central Kitchen’s Relief Team is in Southern California to support first responders and families impacted by wildfires in the Los Angeles area. Our teams have mobilized across the region to provide immediate relief in the form of sandwiches and water as we identify all areas of need. Several WCK Chef Corps members are on standby, ready to provide comforting meals.

Hundreds are seeking refuge in shelters as two of California’s most destructive wildfires rage on. Over 200 American Red Cross workers are helping evacuees in Southern California, ensuring they have safe places to stay during this crisis.

The threat isn’t over yet. Winds will calm today but could return next week, so it’s crucial for people to stay alert, be ready to evacuate, and follow local authorities’ advice. The Palisades and Eaton fires, now among the state’s top five most destructive, have already destroyed around 10,000 structures.

These fires have hit people from all walks of life, but those with fewer resources are often hit hardest, facing even greater challenges in the aftermath.
