First Saturday is a day to show your love for local! Where you spend your money matters.

 


 

Each February, Downtown Frederick is transformed into a winter wonderland! The event kicks off on Friday evening with Fire Performances and a Live Ice Carving Demo, plus the opening of the Polar Lounge and Ice Games Center. Then, all day Saturday, visitors can view 100+ ice sculptures displayed all over downtown, catch Live Ice Carvings during the day, challenge a friend at the Ice Putt-Putt Course, be dazzled by a roaring fire tower at the Polar Lounge, and explore all that Downtown Frederick has to offer.

PARKING & SHUTTLES

Take advantage of the FREE shuttle, which provides all-day service to three remote parking options on the outskirts of downtown. The shuttle runs from 11AM-10PM Saturday, with rides every 15 minutes. Did we mention that it’s completely free? Just hop on and ride! The free shuttles are provided courtesy of Visit Frederick.

Shuttle Parking Locations:

Thomas Johnson Middle School (1799 Schifferstadt Blvd)  drops off at the Polar Lounge (15 E 6th St)  a wheelchair-accessible shuttle will be available on this route
The Frederick Fairgrounds, Parking Lot A (704 E Patrick St / corner of E Patrick & Franklin St)  drops off at Everedy Square (20 N East St)
NYMEO Field at Harry Grove Stadium (21 Stadium Dr)  drops off at the Frederick Visitor Center (151 S East St)

Downtown Parking:

Parking will be a $10 FLAT RATE in all five downtown parking garages from 11AM-9PM on Saturday, February 3.

TRAFFIC CHANGES

To keep everyone safe and traffic moving, NO TURNS will be permitted at the Patrick & Market St or Market & Church St intersections from 11AM-7PM on Saturday, February 3.

The Carroll Creek Garage will also have traffic flow changes:

❗️Patrick St will be ENTRANCE only
❗️Carroll Creek Way will be EXIT only
❗️Maxwell Ave will be for exiting garage traffic only

All intersections will be staffed by Police & professional flaggers. Drivers should expect some delays if traveling through downtown on the day of the event.

Transit Services of Frederick County 51 Connector will detour on East Street. 🚌
