Let’s eradicate polio one ice cream pint at a time! “Pints for Polio” is an event hosted by the Urbana’s very own Rotary Club of Southern Frederick County that aims to bring awareness and eradicate polio worldwide! Donations will be accepted, and purple crocus bulbs will be available for purchase. 100% of funds collected will be donated towards vaccination efforts in areas of the world where polio is still prevalent.

What is polio?
Polio, an infectious disease that can cause paralysis. The development of polio vaccines in the mid-twentieth century and a robust international response have helped more than one hundred countries become polio-free. Yet, new cases in the United States and Israel in 2022 underscore the risk that, until it has been eradicated globally, polio can make a comeback in any part of the world.
Who are the Distinguished Young Women of Frederick County?

Founded in 1958, Distinguished Young Women is a non-profit organization and free program that encourages participants to reach their full individual potential. Their mission is to empower young women by providing over $1 billion in scholarship opportunities, developing their self-confidence in a positive peer environment and participating in our Life Skills Workshops that prepare them for success after high school.

The “Pints for Polio” event (the “Event”) is a fundraiser to raise money for the Rotary Club of Southern Frederick County (the “Sponsor”) located at 9023 Harris St, Frederick, MD 21704.
Promotion Period: The Event begins and ends at the times set forth below.
• Start Time: Saturday, September 23, 2023; 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm E.T.
The Sponsor reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. If this happens, the Sponsor, we will publish the amended terms and conditions on this page.
The Gift cannot be substituted for any other item, cash, or credit.
This offer is only available to those who arrive first at the event, and until inventory has depleted.
Only one (1) Gift per person.
A child under the age of 12 is welcome to participate, however must be accompanied by an adult.
In the event of any dispute, the Sponsor will make the decision.
