Saturday, March 18th 12pm-4pm: Celebrate Nowruz with 300 million people worldwide alongside our friends at the Islamic Society of Frederick!
Nowruz has been celebrated by communities for over 3,000 years in Western Asia, Central Asia, the Caucasus, the Black Sea, the Balkans, and South Asia. Nowruz – the Iranian/Persian New Year– is a secular celebration of the New Year during the spring equinox. It has its origins in the religion of Zoroastrianism (predating Christianity and Islam), and is marked in areas influenced by this culture.
The Islamic Society of Frederick is opening their doors to the Frederick community and hosting a local Nowruz celebration on Sat, March 18 from 12pm-4pm. Plenty of activities for kids and adults, and regional foods available for sale.
Admission is Free, and plenty of free parking!
