PaisleeStrong Silent Auction & Fundraiser
May 7, 2019
Join us for fun day of food and fundraising at Oscar’s Alehouse.
Oscar’s Alehouse will be donating 10% of their sales for the day and 100% proceeds from the Silent Auction will go to benefit Paislee’s medical expenses.
On Feb 4th, 2019 Paislee woke up and was facing rapid onset paralysis for no known reason. She was airlifted from her home in Woodsboro, MD to John Hopkins Pediatric ICU. She had paralysis of all her extremities (legs/arms/hand/feet) and was placed on a breathing machine and was subjected to numerous tests. On Feb 18th, Paislee underwent surgery for Chiari Malformation (key-AR-ee mal-fore-MAY-shun) which is a condition that causes the cerebellum – the part of the brain that controls coordination and muscle movement – to push into space normally occupied by the spinal cord. Since the surgery Paislee has made tremendous progress, she can walk with assistance and has returned home recently. This little girl is a fighter, but she still has a long road of recovery and rehab work ahead for her end her family. The medical bills have been piling up and one of the medicines that Paislee has received (IVIG costs $10,000 a dose) and she has had 4 doses and these may not be covered by insurance, not to mention the hospital and rehab expenses, doctor and testing expense that isn’t covered. She will have to undergo therapy several times a week, and visit neurologist’s at John’s Hopkins in Baltimore regularly. Please help us help Paislee’s family and this sweet little girl.
